Strong customer authentication (SCA) is a requirement of the EU Revised Directive on Payment Services (PSD2) on payment service providers within the European Economic Area. The requirement ensures that electronic payments are performed with multi-factor authentication, to increase the security of electronic payments. In simple words SCA is a feature where the system sends an OTP (One-time-passcode) to the provided phone number in order to gain extra information for the end-user and thus authenticated the customer. (Geo location, mobile phone provider, roaming or not, etc). In our system workflows SCA can be configured according to the Merchant needs.
